Free NHC Membership for all ANU students

Under an agreement between the Australian National University (ANU) and the National Health Co-op (NHC) all students enrolled at the ANU now have access to NHC membership at no cost. Information on NHC membership and what this entitles you to is available here.

If you are an ANU staff member, you are welcome to join the NHC. Information on the NHC membership is available here.

What does this mean?

As an ANU student, you now have access to a range of improved and expanded health and wellness services through NHC Clinics.

The NHC’s wide-ranging services provide additional support options to those available through the ANU in-house medical and counselling services.

ANU students also benefit from having access to the NHC’s extended operating hours, with some clinics opening until 8:30pm on weekdays as well as until 6pm on Saturdays. A full list of NHC clinics is available here.

Where can I access services?

The NHC operates 10 medical clinics in the ACT. These clinics are located in Canberra’s suburbs making it easy and convenient for many non-residential students to access quality health care closer to their home.

Information about the locations of NHC clinics is available here

Information on the NHC’s comprehensive range of primary health and wellness services including GPs, nurses, counselling services and other allied health-care providers is available here.

How much does it cost?

For ANU Students, there is no cost for NHC membership.

Most services provided by the NHC to its members are offered under bulk billing arrangements meaning there will be no out-of-pocket expenses for students. Services that attract fees are provided on a cost-recovery basis.

How do I join?

Simply complete the membership form, and email it to or drop it into any NHC clinic.
