The Organisation

The National Health Co-op is a not-for-profit, member owned co-operative that provides affordable primary and allied healthcare services in the ACT and Yass. Providing quality care to the local community is our focus and we do this through the commitment and support of our members. We have 32,000 active members and operate nine clinics varying in size. Members buy a membership to the Co-op on an annual basis.

The NHC was founded more than 10 years ago with one clinic in the Belconnen area, driven by a need to provide GP services. Since then, it has evolved to be an important part of the primary health network of the Canberra region. We are primarily a bulk billing and appointment required operation. We pride ourselves on quality care and that is reflected in our feedback from patients.

Position Criteria

  • Previous experience in medical leadership roles preferably at Medical Director level.
  • A medical degree/MBBS equivalent (preferred) / unrestricted AHPRA registration.
