Alison Wright
With over 20 years’ experience in leadership roles, Alison has a wealth of diverse industry and business expertise. She has served as a change and crisis leader with global businesses and worked for small, medium and large organisations.
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Alison was the Assistant Director of the National Gallery of Australia, shaping and delivering major strategic initiatives for the nation’s largest visual arts institution for five years. Her broad portfolio included communications, customer service, marketing, philanthropy, Government relations and ICT. She spent almost eight years working in China in two different roles and commenced her career as a journalist with the ABC. She has also served as a Board Director with the ACT Domestic Violence Crisis Service.
She commenced at the National Health Co-op in December 2019 as interim CEO and was officially appointed in March 2020.
Dr Joe Oguns
Joe obtained his primary medical degree from the University of Ilorin in Nigeria. He obtained a Master of Medicine in Family Medicine from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. Joe is also a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and holds an Australian Medical Council Certificate.
Joe brings essential clinical knowledge and experience to the National Health Co-op’s Executive that enables decision making to support the delivery of the best possible level of care.
Phillip McCorkell FCPA
Phillip is passionate about the healthcare industry, having previously held senior roles at Lifeline Australia, the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, the Royal College of Nursing Australia and the Australian Divisions of General Practice Ltd. His time in these roles provides a comprehensive understanding of the health sector and the importance of effective stakeholder relationships, staff engagement and business management to deliver success therein.
Outside of the office Phillip is dedicated to the local community and has held volunteer roles on the boards of Mountain Bike Australia and Lifeline Canberra.
Dr Rotimi Akerele
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Rotimi practiced as a GP and Doctor in Charge of Bingham University Comprehensive Medical Centre.
Rotimi obtained his medical degree from the University of Ilorin in Nigeria.

Dr Wilhelm Anell
From 1987 to 1992 Dr Anell worked as a country doctor in the Pilbara region, gaining experience in obstetrics, paediatrics, surgery and trauma. In Perth between 1992 and 2011, he practiced family medicine, including men’s health, minor surgery, travel medicine and as a surgical assistant.
Transferring to Sydney in 2011, Dr Anell was involved in a large medical practice, gaining further experience in travel medicine. After returning from Sydney he joined a private family practice in Perth, with specific focus on family medicine, men’s health, travel medicine and skin lesions.
Dr Anell joined the National Health Co-op ANU Clinic in February 2019.
Dr Adenike Balogun
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Adenike practiced as a GP at Oke Ado Hospital in Nigeria.
Adenike obtained her medical degree from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology in Nigeria. She obtained a Diploma in Child Health from the University of Sydney, Australia. Adenike also holds an AMC certificate.

Dr Pushpani Herath
Pushpani commenced her employment at the National Health Co-op as a registered General Practitioner in 2013, following extensive work experience and training in Sri Lanka and the USA.
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Pushpani practiced as a Research Officer at Australian National University.
Pushpani obtained her medical degree from the University of Sri Jayawardenepura in Sri Lanka, and a Master of Health Science and Neuroscience from University of Texas at Arlington, USA. Pushpani also holds an AMC certificate and an FPAA National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health for Doctors. Pushpani obtained her PhD at the Australian National University in 2019, focusing on the effect of long term medications on cognitive function in ageing.

Dr Saheed Jimoh
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Saheed practiced as a General Practitioner at the Department of Health in South Africa.
Saheed obtained his medical degree from the University of Lagos in Nigeria.
Saheed is also a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Dr Shiromi Liyanage
Shiromi commenced her work at the National Health Co-op as a registered general practitioner in 2013, following extensive work experience and training in Sri Lanka.
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Shiromi practiced as a GP and Medical Officer at Sri Jayawardanapura General Hospital.
Shiromi obtained her medical degree from the University of North Colombo Medical College in Sri Lanka. She obtained a Diploma in Transfusion medicine from the University of Post Graduate Institute of Medicine in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Dr Shiva Lotfi
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Dr Shiva practiced as a General Practitioner at Valiasr Clinic in Iran.
Dr Shiva obtained her medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Iran.
Dr Dinesh Mehra
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Dinesh practiced as a GP at Ngunnawal Medical & Skin Clinic in Canberra.
Dinesh obtained his MBBS Qualifications from University of Delhi, India. Dinesh is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and holds an AMC certificate. Dinesh has also completed a Professional Diploma of Skin Cancer Medicine.

Dr Dorothy Monk
Dr Dorothy Monk graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2001. She is a Fellow of Royal College of General Practice and has been an examiner for the College.
She enjoys seeing patients of all ages with all general practice presentations, including chronic conditions and mental health problems.
Dr Monk’s past work experience includes research in Psychiatry, working as a senior resident in Gynaecology and Obstetrics, and GP work in hospital emergency and rural Australia.
Dr Bright Odubenu
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Bright practiced as a General Practitioner in Nigeria and in the Caribbean.
Bright obtained his medical degree from the University of Port Harcourt in Nigeria. He is also a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Joe Oguns
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Joe practiced at Hervey Bay Hospital in Queensland.
Joe obtained his primary medical degree from the University of Ilorin in Nigeria. He obtained a Master of Medicine in Family Medicine from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. Joe is also a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, holds an AMC certificate and a Graduate Diploma in Occupational and Environmental Health from Monash University.

Dr Taiye Oguns
Taiye obtained her primary medical degree from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. She obtained a Master of Medicine in Family Medicine from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. Taiye is also a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, holds an AMC certificate and has a Certificate in Women’s Health.

Dr Kingsley Okolie
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Dr. Kingsley practiced as a family and emergency physician at Alexandra Hospital, Nevis, in West Indies.
Kingsley obtained his medical degree from Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Nigeria, where he graduated as valedictorian of the Faculty of Medicine. He also obtained a Master’s Degree in Diabetes and Endocrinology from William Harvey Institute, Queen Mary University, London. In addition to this he has completed his MRCP (UK) certificate (SCE) in Diabetes & Endocrinology and is also a member of the Endocrine Society of Australia.
Kingsley is also a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and holds an AMC certificate.

Dr Mayokun Otesile
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Mayokun practiced as a General Practitioner / Family Physician in Nigeria.
Mayokun obtained his medical degree from the University of Ilorin in Nigeria. He obtained a Masters of Medicine from the University of Limpopo in South Africa. Mayokun is also a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Dr Parham Parvazinia
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Parham practiced as a General Practitioner at Ayr Medical Group in Ayr, Queensland.
Parham obtained his medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Iran. Parham is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and holds an AMC certificate.
Dr Rasika Rajapakse
Dr. Rasika obtained her medical degree from the University of Sri Jayawardenapura, Sri Lanka. She obtained an MSc in Clinical Genetics from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and Post Graduate Diploma in Health Informatics from George Brown College, Toronto, Canada. Rasika is also a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Ramya Ramasamy
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Ramya practiced as a General Practitioner at a private clinic in Tamil Nadu, India.
Ramya obtained her medical degree from the Madras Medical College in Chennai, India. She obtained her further qualification of Diploma in Child Health from Westmead Children’s Hospital, Sydney. Ramya also holds an AMC certificate.
Dr Anu Sumathipala
Anu commenced her employment with the National Health Co-op as a registered General Practitioner in 2010 following extensive work experience and training in Canberra and Sri Lanka.
Anu obtained her qualification from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Anu is also a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Michael Tedeschi
Prior to joining the new National Health Co-op practice at ANU, Michael has been practicing as a General Practitioner at the Health Service of the Australian National University since 1998, and is also currently a Senior Staff Specialist at Canberra Hospital and a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the ANU Medical School.
Michael obtained his medical degree from the University of NSW in Sydney. He obtained his FRACGP in 1984 whilst a GP in Sydney, and then returned to Hospital training before being awarded his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Chapter of Addiction Medicine) in 2002. He is a member of the Australasian Professional Society on Alcohol and other Drugs (APSAD) and a member of the America Society of Addiction Medicine.

Dr Eugene Tshibangu
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Eugene practiced as a family physician and medical manager in South Africa.
Eugene obtained his medical degree from the University of Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a Postgraduate Diploma in Obstetrics in South Africa, and a Master’s Degree in Family Medicine from the University of Pretoria in South Africa. Eugene has also completed a Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine from the Skin Cancer College Australasia. Eugene is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Lakshika Wijemanna
Dr Lakshika is currently on extended leave.
Lakshika commenced her work at the National Health Co-op as a registered General Practitioner in 2013, following extensive work experience and training in Sri Lanka.
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Lakshika practiced as a Medical Officer in Sri Lanka.
Lakshika obtained her medical degree from the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka.
Lakshika is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and holds an AMC certificate. Lakshika has also completed the Sydney Child Health Program, certificate in skin cancer surgery and certificate in clinical procedures with Healthcert Australia .

Dr Jonathan Williams
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op Jonathan practised as a GP in Yass from 1982.
Jonathan obtained his medical degree from the University of Sydney. He obtained a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the UK, Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine at Monash University and Diploma in Palliative Medicine at Melbourne University.

Dr Madeline Burrell
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Madeline practised at Calvary Bruce Hospital working in a critical care role.
Madeline obtained her medical degree from the University of New South Wales in Sydney and in rural campuses. She obtained a bachelor of medical studies/Doctor of medicine from the University of New South Wales.

Dr Elizabeth Muller
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Elizabeth worked in critical care at Calvary Hospital.
Elizabeth obtained her medical degree from the Australian National University in Canberra.
Dr Yifang Wu
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Yifang practiced as a general practitioner registrar at Queanbeyan GP Super Clinic.
Yifang obtained her medical degree from the Australian National University in Canberra.
Mylie Sell
She is trained in a variety of treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Mylie obtained her Bachelor of Psychology, Honours degree and Masters of Clinical Psychology from the University of Canberra, Australia.
Stefanie Lekkas
As an APD Stefanie tailors nutrition advice to the individual. Despite have the word “diet” in her professional title, Stefanie takes a mindful eating, or non-diet approach, to her practice, focussing on a person’s overall health and wellbeing rather than encouraging a restrictive, diet-focussed mentality.
Along with assisting patients with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and osteoporosis, Stefanie also works with patients to improve their gut symptoms and optimise their dietary intake in conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome and diverticular disease. Stefanie also assists parents with introducing first foods, fussy eating and appropriate growth of their little ones.
With an interest in allergies and intolerances she completed the Professional Certificate in Medical Nutrition Therapy in Food Allergy and Intolerance in 2018 and is a professional member of Coeliac Australia.
Sam Payne
Sam obtained a Bachelor of Human Movement (Exercise Rehabilitation) undergraduate degree at Charles Stuart University in 2008 and completed a Master of Physiotherapy degree at the University of Canberra in 2011. He also completed a Graduate Certificate of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at LaTrobe University in 2015, and has worked as both a Physiotherapist and Accredited Exercise Physiologist within Canberra and the Mid-North Coast for over 6 years.
Sam has extensive experience managing and treating various problems including back and neck pain, lumbo-pelvic pain, sports injuries and migraine / headaches. He is trained in spinal physiotherapy, dry needling, clinical pilates, kinesiology taping, exercise prescription and specialised migraine headache physiotherapy.
Natalie Evans
Natalie obtained her psychology degree from Deakin University. She obtained her Masters from University of Sydney and has undertaken further training in a number of psychologically specific treatments, such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Joanna Hawke
Joanna started at the National Health Co-op as a Nurse Practitioner in 2018, and has extensive experience at various medical centres, residential aged care facilities, and community clinics. She has a bachelor’s degree from Edith Cowan University in Perth, and a master’s degree from Edith Cowan and Flinders University in Adelaide.
As a nurse practitioner, she can provide all standard nursing services and many more. This includes providing prescriptions, specialist referrals, pathology ordering, simple x-rays and ultrasounds, cervical screening, implanon procedures, and suturing.
Please note that allied health referrals, pelvic ultrasounds, skin checks and mental health or care plans are outside Joanna’s remit – these procedures should be booked with a GP.
Anne Eade
She is a hospital trained Registered Nurse and has completed a Bachelor of Health Science (Nursing) through Charles Sturt Uni, Graduate Certificate (Critical Care) through College of Nursing, Graduate Diploma (Emergency Nursing) through the University of Western Sydney and a Masters in Clinical Management through Southern Cross University.
Peachy Alcos
Peachy commenced her work at the National Health Co-op as a Practice Nurse in January 2021.
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Peachy practiced as a Registered Nurse and Clinical Educator at Calvary Haydon Retirement, Bruce.
Peachy obtained her Nursing degree from the University of Cebu in the Philippines. She then completed her RN AU conversion degree at the Central Queensland University. Peachy also holds certifications in Training and Assessment, and Mental Health.
Keith Ancheta
Keith commenced her work at the National Health Co-op as a Practice Nurse in November 2015 following extensive work experience and training in Baguio City, Philippines.
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Keith practiced as a Registered Nurse/Nurse Unit Manager at Harbison Care.
Keith obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the Saint Louis University in the Philippines.

Karen commenced her work at the National Health Co-op as a Practice Nurse in 2018.

Patricia commenced her work at the National Health Co-op as a Practice Nurse in 2016.
Marjorie Bunoan
Marjorie commenced her work at the National Health Co-op as a Practice Nurse in 2019 following extensive work experience and training in Singapore and Adelaide.
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Marjorie practiced as a Registered Nurse in General Medicine at Calvary Bruce Private hospital .
Marjorie obtained her Nursing degree from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in the Philippines.
Casie Causley
Casie commenced her work at the National Health Co-op as a Practice Nurse in 2015 following extensive work experience and training in Adelaide, Wagga Wagga and Brisbane.
Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Casie practiced as a Registered Nurse at Mater Private Hospital in Brisbane.
Casie obtained her Nursing degree from Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga. She has also obtained a Graduate Diploma in Nursing from the University of South Australia and a Graduate Certificate in Neurosurgical Nursing from University of Tasmania.
