Endometriosis is a condition characterised by the presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterus, affecting up to 10% of women of child bearing age. Symptoms include painful periods, chronic pelvic pain and fertility issues, but alarmingly the average time to diagnose endometriosis may be up to 7 years.
To encourage awareness of endometriosis, the National Health Co-op, in collaboration with SERVICE ONE Alliance Bank, is hosting a free information session on Tuesday 20 March. You will have the opportunity to speak with an OBGYN and learn about the symptoms and diagnosis of endometriosis, as well as treatment options and management of the condition.
