Are you a smoker looking for information on how you can quit? Do you know a smoker and would like to learn about the ways you can support your family, friends or colleagues as they undergo the process of giving up smoking? Perhaps you would just like to know more about nicotine addiction?
The National Health Co-op, in collaboration with Cancer Council ACT and Service One Alliance Bank, is holding an education session on Wednesday, 24 May 2017 to discuss the benefits of quitting smoking, offer strategies and effective methods for cessation, and provide information about support services available for those looking to quit.
Did you know?
Quitting smoking is the single best thing you can do to reduce your risk of cancer and other diseases.
It takes only 12 hours after stopping smoking for almost all nicotine to exit your system, with most by-products gone within five days.
A pack-a-day smoker will benefit financially by roughly $10,300 to $12,300 per year by quitting.
Anyone interested in learning more about smoking cessation and strategies to succeed in quitting are encouraged to attend. You are welcome to invite a guest.
